According to the Hindu calender, Each lunar month consists of one full moon day. This full moon day is also called as pournami or Poornima. This full moon day considered very auspicious by hindus. They celebrate a lot of festivals like Hanuman Jayanti, Rakhi Pournami and Kartik Pournami. Few communities observe Poornima Vrat i.e fasting on every full moon day. Poornima Nadi snan and Satyanarayan Vrat are the other major rituals of the day.
